Description

This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Grid 21 base position.

Job Overview

To provide senior technical advisory services to a program area in the natural resource sector.

Qualifications

Education and Experience  
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a natural resource field and 6 months of related experience; OR
• Diploma in a natural resource field and 1 year of related experience; OR
• Certificate or coursework in a natural resource field and 3 years related experience; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered; AND

Related experience includes: 
• Experience in assessing timber harvesting performance and methods 
• Experience in compliance and enforcement with respect to licences, acts and regulations 
• Experience in basic forestry measurement techniques such as traversing, cruising and scaling 
• Experience in basic assessments related to the Forest and Range Practices Act 
• Experience in mapping 
• Experience in using computer hardware and software 

Preference may be given to applicants with 1 or more of the following: 
• Valid Interior Scaling License holder 
• experience in mapping
• Registered, or eligible for registration as a Registered Forest Technologist with the Association of B.C. Forest Professionals.  Note: immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to FPBC within six (6) months of employment. Confirmation of registration/eligibility is required before an offer of employment can be made.
• Experience with Residue and Waste applications, surveys, and/or fieldwork and administration

About this Position

Currently there is 1 permanent, full-time opportunity available in Prince George.
An eligibility list may be established for future temporary and/or permanent opportunities.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement. 
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
