The Team
The Vancouver Justice Access Centre, located within the Vancouver (Robson Square) Courthouse, serves as a vital resource for families navigating the complexities of separation and divorce. Housing a self-help resource room, the Vancouver JAC provides a welcoming drop-in space for clients to access legal information, use computers for research and forms, and connect with knowledgeable staff.
This established and collaborative team is passionate about helping families navigate the challenges their family law matters bring. Under the leadership of a local manager, the Vancouver JAC includes a senior family justice counsellor, seven family justice counsellors, several justice interviewers, and a team of three administrative staff. In addition to this dedicated team, staff work closely with co-located family duty counsel. The Role
The Office Manager plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the office and helping families access family justice services in a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive environment. Working closely with the Local Manager, staff, and the public, this role provides administrative leadership, supervises support staff, and helps ensure clients receive accurate information and support that reflects diverse needs and experiences. The position also supports office operations through budgeting, records management, and maintaining services and resources that help the team effectively serve communities across British Columbia.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary School graduation or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- A minimum of 1 year of clerical/administrative support experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience and/or training in, word processing, spreadsheet application, and other standard computer applications including Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Client service experience in a human service field* (e.g., Indigenous organizations, family justice, community services agencies, legal services, court services). *Note: Experience may be gained in a professional/work, community or volunteer setting.
- An administrative certificate or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Office management experience.
- Experience and/or training in financial procedures/practices.
- Experience and/or training in filing systems or records management.
- Applicants who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and/or Métis) with the required combination of education and experience.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This competition is geographically restricted to Vancouver.
