Job Overview
Reporting to an excluded manager, the Land and Resource Specialist - Senior Authorizations Supervisor is accountable for making natural resource authorizations decisions and recommendations on complex applications or against complex legislation and regulations.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in a natural resource management field and two (2) years of related experience; OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in a natural resource management field and three (3) years of related experience; OR
- Diploma in a natural resource management field and four (4) years of related experience; OR
- Certificate or coursework in a natural resource management field and five (5) years of related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related Experience may include:
- Experience (field/office) working in resource management.
- Experience in negotiating and consulting with relevant parties in natural resource management.
- Experience in supervising, leading, coaching, and mentoring staff.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent.
- Must meet safety standards of WorkSafeBC.
- Willing and able to conduct field work which may include travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, overnight or extended stays in rough camp conditions and outdoor work in all weather conditions.

About this Position:

There is currently one (1) temporary, full time position available to February 14th, 2028.
This position can be based in a Natural Resource Sector office in the North Area. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
This position will require occasional travel in the Skeena Region.
Depending on the successful candidate’s location, a bi-weekly isolation allowance may apply.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
