The Team
Penticton Community Corrections is an established, mid-sized team based in the heart of the South Okanagan, serving the local community in person and supporting other areas of the province through virtual services. You’ll work alongside a supportive and professional group—including a Local Manager, Senior Probation Officer, Probation Officers, and administrative staff—while collaborating with partners like courts, RCMP, and community agencies to help keep communities safe and support clients in meeting their court-ordered goals. The Role
In this entry-level Probation Officer role, you will support clients in understanding and following their court orders, helping them build positive paths forward while contributing to safer communities. You’ll receive comprehensive training and gain valuable hands-on experience working with diverse individuals, community partners, and justice system stakeholders. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Completion of two years of credit towards a degree or education equivalency (60 credits of post-secondary education towards a diploma or degree will be accepted as equivalent to a two-year diploma).
- Successful completion of the Adult Probation Officer pre-requisite course (CORR1000).
Related Experience may include
- Some experience, including volunteer or education, in an area that demonstrates maturity and the applicant's interest in people, preferably with some experience in social work or a related area.
Willingness statements or provisos
- Valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license. A valid Class 7 may be considered.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until March 31, 2028. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) and Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
