Job Overview
Compensation Analysts in APP are responsible for:

  • Reviewing, costing, and making recommendations on physician contracting applications.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliation to ensure payments to physicians through health authorities and similar agencies are appropriate and timely.
  • Maintaining detailed records in SCRUBS, advising on data structure, and providing clear and concise reports.
  • Liaising with health authority partners to ensure data is reliable and valid and that issues are addressed in a timely fashion to ensure payment fidelity. This includes sharing guidelines and answering support questions.
  • Assessing and monitoring quarterly forecasts and contract utilization data to identify potential risks to the overall program budget and develop recommendations to mitigate risks and improve financial efficiency.

Key deliverables include written reports, briefing notes, draft correspondence, system records, and data tables.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grid 18: Bachelor’s degree and 6 months of recent related experience; or Diploma and 1 year of recent related experience; or a Certificate or coursework and 2 years of recent related experience.
  • Grid 21: Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of recent related experience; or Diploma and 2 years of recent related experience; or a Certificate and 3 years of recent related experience.
  • Grid 24: Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of recent related experience; or Diploma and 3 years of recent related experience; or a Certificate and 4 years of recent related experience.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Relevant fields of education include but are not limited to: economics, statistics, health information science, health sciences, political science, and business administration.
Recent related experience should be from the past five years and must include one of the following 

  • Experience analysing data for trends and recommending/taking action to resolve issues.
  • Experience with financial management including oversight of budgets, costs, and reconciliations, and developing cost-benefit analyses. 

Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Experience analysing or working on complex and multi-faceted projects or policies, including projects that required coordination across a variety of stakeholders or partners.
  • Experience working in the health sector.
  • Experience with compensation analysis, contract management, and/or in a labour relations context.
  • Experience using technology to communicate complex concepts, including the use of data visualization tools, such as Power BI, PowerPivot, or Tableau.
  • Experience building and/or maintaining databases.
  • Experience in both of the required areas listed above.

About this Position:
There are three permanent full time positions available.
These positions may be located out of any of the location/s listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to five (5) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
