Job Overview
The Operations Adjudicator Lead will lead a team in the adjudication and processing of disaster recovery funding claims submitted by public and private sector applicants. Reviews and determines entitlement, and/or makes recommendations regarding the resolution of complex claims.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Degree in business administration, commerce, economics, public relations, public administration, law, emergency management or a related field and 2 years of related experience*; OR
- Diploma in business administration, commerce, economics, public relations, public administration, law, emergency management or a related field and 3 years of related experience*; OR
- Other relevant combinations of education and/or experience* may be considered.
*Related experience must include some experience in each of the following:
- Experience reviewing documents or applications for completeness and making recommendations for approval.
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, and policy in complex situations.
- Experience developing and implementing operational materials and statistical reporting (e.g., policy, procedure, practices).
- Experience with supervising and leading staff.
- Experience preparing concise senior-level briefings, submission documents, background material, reports, and correspondence on a variety of issues.
Preference may be given to candidates who have:
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, and policy governing the Disaster Financial Assistance program.
- Experience working with and engaging with Indigenous Nations communities and/or organizations.
- Experience working with Disaster Recovery programs.
- Experience working with governments to assess eligibility and process payment relating to government infrastructure disaster recovery.
Candidates must be willing and able to:
- Be flexible regarding ongoing changes in responsibilities, assignments, and corporate structures.
- Work on-call and work extended hours during emergency activations.
- Travel occasionally.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 09/30/2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 5 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
