The Team
The Nelson Integrated Services Team encompasses Administration, Child Protection, Child and Youth Mental Health, Children and Youth with Support Needs, Resources, Collaborative Practice and Decision-Making, and Youth Probation. This team works collaboratively with other Ministry teams, provincial & federal government agencies and other indigenous and non-indigenous local community partners. Located in the heart of Nelson, the office offers easy access to the downtown area filled with locally owned boutiques, vintage shops, cafés and restaurants. The Team works together in a fast-paced, high-energy environment collaboration, clear communication, positivity, respect, and cultural humility valued and reflected in daily practice.
The Role
As Office Manager, you will oversee daily office operations and provide key administrative support to program management and staff. The role coordinates essential functions including human resources, payroll, records management, facilities, and asset management to help ensure the office runs smoothly and effectively. Your work will directly support services for children, youth, and families in the Nelson community. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Certificate or coursework in business or office administration and one (1) year related experience; or
- Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and two (2) years related experience; or
- Evergreen and three (3) years related experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with no restriction or equivalent (i.e., from another Canadian Province).
Related Experience:
- Experience providing administrative and financial support services for a group of staff.
- Experience leading others.
Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following
- Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit or Métis), with the required combination of education and experience.
- At least one (1) year of experience working as an Office Manager.
- At least one (1) year of experience working as an Office Manager in the Social Sector within the BC Public Service.
- Experience working with systems such as Integrated Case Management (ICM), Client Record Information System (CRIS), and Administrative Records Classification System (ARCS) and Operational Records Classification Systems (ORCS).
- Experience with budget management, facilities management, and inventory management.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
