The Team
The Business Modernization and Analytics team is a well‑established, collaborative group that plays a critical role in supporting the ministry’s digital systems, data analytics, and service platforms. With approximately 30 team members across two specialized units - one dedicated to IMIT platforms and digital infrastructure and the other to data analytics and evidence‑based reporting. The team brings deep technical expertise and a strong commitment to inclusive, client‑centered service delivery. They value diverse perspectives, lived experiences, and a team‑first mindset, working closely with internal and external partners to ensure systems and insights support equitable outcomes for all British Columbians.
The Role
The Business Modernization and Analytics team is seeking a role that contributes to this work by supporting the ministry’s digital systems, data analytics and service platforms. The position operates within a collaborative environment of approximately 30 team members across two specialized units, engaging in IMIT platform support, digital infrastructure, data analytics and evidence‑based reporting. The role emphasizes inclusive, client‑centered service delivery and involves working closely with partners to ensure that digital tools and insights effectively advance equitable outcomes for individuals and communities across the province.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Master’s degree in information technology/computer science and six (6) months of related experience; OR
- Bachelor’s Degree Information Technology/Computer Science and one (1) year of related experience; OR
- Diploma Information Technology/Computer Science and two (2) years of related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Months/Years of related experience must be in each of the following.
- Experience working collaboratively with various internal and external partners on systems process change projects.
- Experience with systems applications including implementation planning and testing, security and the development of analytical reports.
- Direct experience providing business analysis, requirements gathering, testing, supporting and maintaining for complex systems which have multi-ministry stakeholders or multiple lines of business.
- Experience supporting end-to-end system implementations or modernization projects, including business process analysis, user acceptance testing (UAT), test case development and issue resolution.
Preferences may be given to candidates with:
- Direct experience working in similar roles in Large Scale System Modernization Projects.
- Experience implementing information systems or applications to support policy initiatives.
- Experience using Jira to capture and manage business requirements in an Agile environment, including documenting user stories, acceptance criteria and supporting backlog refinement with delivery teams.
- Direct experience in JIRA.
- Direct experience in Service NOW (SNOW).

This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 5 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
There is currently a temporary opportunity available until March 31, 2027.
