Job Overview
Under the leadership of the Regional Director, the Recreation Administrative Assistant provides contract support, financial management support, authorization and permitting support and administrative support for regional operations, primarily focused on the Rec Sites and Trails Program.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
- Preference may be given to those with some post-secondary education or formal training in office or business administration, contract administration, basic accounting or other related areas.
- Experience providing a comprehensive range of administrative and/or financial support in a busy, high-volume public or private sector office setting.
- Experience in keyboarding, word processing, creating spreadsheets and working with standard Microsoft computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Experience drafting or preparing a variety of documentation including database tracking, reports, spreadsheets, budgetary, financial and contract-related forms and documents.
- Experience in contract administration, including preparing contract documents, coding, ensuring accuracy of billing, etc.
- Experience interacting with and providing support to managers and staff, contractors, and other external partners and stakeholders.
- Experience identifying problems and developing options for resolution within policies and guidelines.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available.
This position can be based in one of the following locations: Clearwater, Cranbrook, Kamloops, Kelowna, Merritt, Nelson, Penticton, Revelstoke, or Vernon.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in the above locations.
