Job Overview
The Senior Policy Analyst coordinates and leads research, analysis, engagement, and policy development in support of strategic priorities within the Ministry of Mining and Critical Minerals, including Indigenous consultation and cooperation, legislative and regulatory initiatives, and significant Ministry programs.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, law, economics, natural resource management, environmental science, Indigenous studies or related field and three (3) years of related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Related experience must include:
  • Experience with issues identification, management and resolution.
  • Experience dealing with senior officials and providing advice and recommendations.
  • Experience researching and conducting policy analysis.
  • Experience conducting research and analysis related to land use, resource management, social or economic development issues.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and facilitating consultations.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
  • Experience in the development, interpretation and application of legislation, regulation and policy.
  • Experience building partnerships and relationships with First Nations. This experience may have been gained in a professional, community or volunteer setting.
  • Experience leading policy review or other types of project teams.
  • Experience leading or participating and contributing to partner and stakeholder engagement, negotiations or consultations.
