This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Grid 15 base position

Job Overview
This position supports many pesticide program administration activities including issuing pesticide licences to pesticide applicators and vendors, approval of pesticide use notices, issuing pesticide use permits and certification of individuals through coordination and administration of exams. This position may also support the EMA waste discharge authorization application process, including reviewing complex and time sensitive applications for completeness and routing applications to appropriate staff for next steps, and may assist in registering generators of hazardous waste and advising on the proper completion of manifests under Part 2 of the Environmental Management Act and the Hazardous Waste Regulation. This position interfaces directly with the public and industry stakeholders in these areas.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation (Grade 12) or equivalent; AND one (1) year of recent, relevant experience.

Relevant experience must include each of the following:

  • Experience in customer service.
  • Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations and/or policies.
  • Experience in keyboarding, word processing, creating spreadsheets and working with standard Microsoft computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience in dealing with public enquiries in person, over the phone, by e-mail in compliance, or adjudicative environment.
  • Experience in a regulatory role.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) temporary, full time opportunity available. This may be extended or become permanent.
