Job Overview
This position leads the Crown Governance team, which delivers two core lines of business to support strong alignment, accountability, and outcomes between the Ministry and its Crown agency. The Governance function provides strategic, forward-looking leadership to strengthen alignment between the Ministry and the Crown agency. This includes developing and maintaining the frameworks, tools, policies, and processes that clearly define roles, decision-making authorities, accountability structures, approval pathways, and reporting requirements. Key responsibilities include translating government direction and priorities to the Crown agency—through instruments such as mandate letters—while supporting integrated planning, performance monitoring, and reporting to enable informed, evidence-based decision-making.
The team also provides oversight of affordable housing programs delivered by the Crown agency. This work includes the development and analysis of program frameworks and policies related to affordable housing delivery, as well as strategic review and assessment of Crown agency materials and activities. These include program frameworks, agreements, service plans, and corporate reports, ensuring alignment with government priorities and policy objectives.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, social sciences, planning, political science, or a related field, or equivalent education; plus three (3) years of *related experience.

An equivalent amount of education and *related experience may be considered.
*Related experience must include all of the following:
-
Experience working cooperatively with related but autonomous agencies, such as crown corporations or non-profits, in a policy or governance leadership role.

Experience establishing, building, and maintaining collaborative working relationships with other ministries and levels of government and/or industry stakeholders.

Experience supervising staff and leading teams.
Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
-
A master’s degree in public or business administration, social sciences, planning, political science, or a related area, or equivalent education.

Experience leading the development, analysis and implementation of housing policy.
-
Experience developing and analyzing legislation and regulations.
-
Experience managing diverse and complex projects where project teams are often comprised of participants with divergent or competing interests.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to five (5) days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
