Job Overview
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of SPIRIT leads the Ministry’s intergovernmental and Indigenous relations work, anticipating and managing priority issues. The role provides strategic advice to senior leadership on complex matters, builds relationships with the BC public service, Indigenous partners, and other jurisdictions, and supports provincial housing objectives through collaboration and agreements. The Director also represents the Ministry in inter-jurisdictional forums, ensures coordinated approaches across the Ministry, and leads major projects, including managing staff, resources, partnerships, finances, and project delivery.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field. 

  • A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. 

  • One (1) year experience in leadership roles in a public service, professional service, or partner/stakeholder management environment.

  • One (1) year experience working in cross-government forums or managing effective internal and external stakeholder engagement and relations.

  • Experience in creating and delivering executive-level presentations for the purpose of decision making.

  • Experience working with and leading diverse teams, and empowering staff.

  • Experience working in issues analysis, strategic project management and program management.
     

Preference may be given to those with:

  • Direct experience working with senior non-elected officials in other jurisdictions at Federal, Provincial, Territorial tables.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 09/17/2027, with the possibility of extension and/or the position becoming permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
