This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Band 3 base position

Job Overview
This position works within natural resource management (i.e., tenures, stewardship, engineering, corporate services, First Nations) and is accountable for managing the delivery of district operations consistent with ministry priorities and objectives and legislative requirements and oversees a large team comprised of technical, administrative, and professional staff.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:

  • University Degree or Diploma in a field related to Natural Resource Management, Business/Public Administration or acceptable equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ recent experience in operational management of natural resources.
  • Experience leading and coaching diverse teams and in financial and human resource management.
  • Experience developing and maintaining working relationships and resolving problems with partners and stakeholders in natural resource management or infrastructure development.
  • Experience developing and maintaining working relationships and developing solutions with Indigenous Nations.

Preference may be given to candidates with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ recent experience in operational management of natural resources.
  • Minimum one (1) year of program management experience, which may include allocating resources, budget management and/or business planning.
  • Financial management experience including budgets, forecasts, etc.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid British Columbia Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent.
  • Must be willing and able to travel occasionally, for varying lengths of time.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available in Campbell River.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in Campbell River.
This position is excluded from union membership.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
