This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Grid 3A base position

Job Overview
Working with other members of the Audit Unit, this position participates in audits set out in the Chief Auditor’s Audit Plan, including developing comprehensive, public audit reports with recommendations to senior decision-makers. 

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, Engineering, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline.
•    Must be registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a Professional Forester with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC); OR, a Professional Agrologist with the British Columbia Institute of Agrologists (BCIA); OR, a Professional Engineer/Geoscientist with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC). Note: immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to obtain registration in BC from a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction. Applicants must confirm their eligibility with the appropriate BC association (FPBC, BCIA, EGBC). Confirmation of registration/eligibility will be required before an offer of employment can be made.
•    Minimum three years of related experience, where related experience includes each of the following:

  • Experience conducting detailed research and analysis related to government programs or technical projects.
  • Experience concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content for diverse audiences.
  • Experience planning and coordinating complex projects/assignments.
  • Experience collaborating in a team-based setting.

•    An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
•    A Master’s degree in Geoscience, Engineering, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline. 
•    Experience in performance auditing.
•    Experience working with Indigenous peoples and/or interested parties (e.g., government staff, industry, non-governmental organizations) on complex issues. 
•    Experience developing briefing materials and making recommendations to management/executive.
•    Experience in interpreting legislation, regulations, and/or policies related to the regulation of the natural resource sector or heavy industries in B.C.

About this Position:
