Team:
The Port Coquitlam Law Courts team is a well‑established, highly collaborative group that provides administrative support to both the Provincial and Supreme Courts. With 30 dedicated staff, the team delivers essential in‑court, registry, and accounting services while working closely with justice partners such as lawyers, police, community corrections, court participants, and judicial staff. This team plays a vital role in supporting access to justice, and we value the diverse perspectives and strengths each person brings to creating a fair and effective court system for the community.

Role:
In this Court Clerk / Court Registry Clerk role, you will play an important part in case management by maintaining accurate court files, recording proceedings, and entering information into central databases to support the smooth operation of the justice system. Your work helps improve access to justice by reducing delays, supporting vulnerable individuals, and ensuring information is handled fairly and consistently for all who rely on court services. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).

Related Experience may include

  • Minimum of two years' administrative support or customer service experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of one-year previous work experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and working with standard computer applications and software programs (e.g., Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Keyboard speed of 40 word per minute.

Preference May Be Given to Applicants With:

  • Experience in court programs and applications (e.g., JUSTIN, CEIS, ARC, CTAS, CCD).
  • Experience providing customer service.
  • Experience as a Court Clerk and/or Registry Clerk.
  • One year of previous work experience in a legal environment.

Willingness Statements or Provisos

  • Valid B.C. drivers' licence.
  • May be required to work flexible hours, including varied shifts and overtime on short notice.
  • May be required to travel, including travel in adverse weather conditions and work in other geographical areas, including circuit court locations. Must have reliable transportation and/or be willing to travel with others.

Other Requirements

  • Experience in accounting services.
