This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Grid 27 base position.

Job Overview
The position operates in a dynamic environment reliant on shared services and partnerships to ensure tourism interests are represented in broader public sector policies, programs and investments. 

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Tourism Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related field and a minimum of two (2) years of *related experience; OR
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or closely related field and a minimum of three (3) years of *related experience; OR
  • A Diploma in Tourism, Business Administration, Public Administration, or closely related field and a minimum of four (4) years of *related experience; OR 
  • A Certificate or coursework in Tourism, Business Administration, Public Administration,  or closely related field and a minimum of five (5) years of *related experience; OR 
  • An equivalent combination of education and *related experience may be considered. 

*Related experience must include:

  • Experience interpreting and developing legislation, regulation, and policy. 
  • Experience developing and nurturing relationships with local Governments, Indigenous Communities, and/or Non-Government Organizations.
  • Experience planning and coordinating and leading complex projects/assignments. 
  • Experience producing concise written documentation including issue papers, reports, briefings, presentations and executive level correspondence.
  • Experience developing processes and participating in consultations to define policy and/or program priorities.

Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Experience working in the tourism sector, particularly those with a background in tourism planning and strategy development. 
  • Experience working with federal, provincial and territorial, municipal intergovernmental relations.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to three (3) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This is a temporary opportunity until February 28, 2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
