Job Summary
This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Clerk 15 base position.

The Prince George Fire Centre Asset Management team supports wildfire operations across the Northeast Region, serving a large and complex organization of approximately 380 staff, including seven fire zones and three air tanker bases. Operating across a vast and geographically diverse area, the team manages fleet, facilities, and equipment to ensure operational readiness in a fast-paced environment.
Highly collaborative and team-oriented, the group works closely with operational staff to support safe, efficient, and effective wildfire response, contributing directly to frontline readiness across the region.

Job Overview
As an Asset Management Assistant within the Prince George Fire Centre, you will support fleet, facilities, and asset management across this large and complex operational region. This role provides hands-on involvement in a fast-paced environment, directly supporting wildfire response and operational readiness.

Working as part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to the safety and effectiveness of frontline operations across the region.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduation; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and training may be considered; AND
  • Valid Class 5 drivers licence.

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Experience supporting facility maintenance programs, including coordinating repairs, inspections, or preventative maintenance activities.
  • Experience in fleet maintenance or repair environments, including tracking vehicle maintenance, working with repair vendors, or supporting lifecycle management.
  • Experience maintaining asset inventories and supporting asset lifecycle planning (repair, replacement, disposal).
  • Experience in contract and procurement management and coordination, including working with service providers and contract deliverables.
  • Experience creating and managing spreadsheets, and working with standard computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

About this Position:
There is 1 full time position available and can be performed from either Prince George or Fort St John. An eligibility list may be established for future temporary or permanent opportunities.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
