Job Overview
The Policy Analyst independently manages assigned policy development projects that support the development and implementation of policy, regulations, legislation, and digital transformation in the construction sector. This includes research and analysis, stakeholder engagement, managing project components, developing briefing materials, presentations, and other communications materials. The work involves regular engagement and communication with all levels of government, industry, regulatory agencies, and building relationships with Indigenous communities and nations. This position may involve working in a number of cross-functional teams within the Branch and Ministry.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, business administration, economics, political science, planning, geography, social sciences or related discipline AND 2 years of related research/policy experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may also be considered.

Related experience must include:

  • Experience researching policy issues and conducting policy and/or data analysis.
  • Experience contributing to projects and/or managing project components.
  • Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content.

Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Experience working with policies, regulations, bylaws and/or regulatory systems that relate to buildings and construction in British Columbia.
  • Experience developing and delivering oral and visual communication products (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, slide decks, flow charts and graphics, webinars) to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience researching, analyzing, and evaluating regulatory programs and/or policies related to the construction sector.

This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 5 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
