The Team
The Central Monitoring Unit (CMU) is an established team of dedicated professionals committed to public safety through technology-based monitoring of high-risk offenders. Our team includes 21 Probation Officers working rotational shifts, supported by Team Leads, a Manager, and a CPIC Clerk, and we collaborate closely with community probation officers, police, and other justice partners. The Role
As a CMU Probation Interviewer, you will play a key role in protecting public safety by monitoring high-risk clients through electronic supervision technology. Your responsibilities include investigating alerts, analyzing client data, supporting case management decisions, and collaborating with justice partners to ensure compliance with court orders. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Completion of two years of credit towards a degree or education equivalency (60 credits of post-secondary education towards a diploma or degree will be accepted as equivalent to a two-year diploma).
- Successful completion of the Adult Probation Officer pre-requisite course (CORR1000).
- Valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license. A valid Class 7 may be considered.
Related Experience may include:
- Some experience, including volunteer or education, in an area that demonstrates maturity and the applicant's interest in people, preferably with some experience in social work or a related area.
Preference may be given to applicants with experience in:
- correctional settings that involve supervision and conflict resolution.
- Interpreting geospatial data that includes data sources derived from GPS, Cellular, Radio and Wi-Fi technologies.
Willingness statements or provisos
- Hours of work vary according to a shift work schedule that includes day shifts, night shifts and weekends/statutory holidays.

This is a temporary opportunity until 01/29/2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
