The Team
The Provincial Centralized Screening Admin team is an established, high‑performing group made up of 17 full‑time and auxiliary staff, supported by three office managers across two locations. As part of this team, applicants will collaborate closely with Social Workers, Team Leaders, Office Managers, Support Workers, Business Analysts, and colleagues across the MCFD Service Delivery Division, as well as partners at Community Living BC. The team plays a critical role in delivering frontline and operational support to the 24/7 Provincial Centralized Screening program, including after‑hours services for SDPR and CLBC. Their work underpins every aspect of operations—from call handling and documentation management to financial reconciliation and staff support—making their impact both broad and essential. The Role
In this role, you will be a key part of a fast‑paced, high‑volume contact centre that provides essential frontline and administrative support to the Provincial Centralized Screening program. Your responsibilities will span telephone and reception duties, real‑time monitoring of service queues, assisting Social Workers with child protection documentation, and supporting clients who may be experiencing stressful or emotional situations. You’ll manage a wide range of administrative tasks—from preparing correspondence and reports to coordinating mail, booking travel and meetings, maintaining manuals, and supporting business continuity activities. You will also handle contract and invoice processing, financial tracking, data entry, and secure document management, while providing backup support across the office as needed. This work directly supports children, youth, families, and vulnerable adults across B.C., making it both meaningful and deeply impactful. Candidates will appreciate the flexible scheduling options, including a 4‑on/3‑off rotation, shift‑trading opportunities, and a supportive team environment that values work–life balance. This position operates within a 24/7 service model, with shifts that may include early mornings, days, evenings, or overnights, and the monthly shift pattern rotates. Up to two temporary assignment opportunities are currently available for terms of up to two years.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
Education/Experience
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent (for example, GED). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum 1 year administrative/reception/clerical experience in an office environment.
- Experience responding to general inquiries in person, via e-mail and over the phone.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 tools, such as MS Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint
Preference may be given to candidates who:
- Have post-secondary education (coursework/certificate/diploma) in a field related to Office Management or Administration
- Have more than 2 years administrative/reception/clerical experience in an office environment
- Have experience with ICM (Integrated Case Management software)
- Have finance experience (e.g. checking invoices for accuracy, completing routine payment documents, liaising with other divisions to resolve client payment issues/problems/concerns)
- Self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
