The Team:
The Authorizations and Remediation Branch helps to safeguard human health and the environment by setting enforceable regulatory requirements based on sound science and efficient processes. The Fees and Licensing Team ensures all financial and regulatory aspects of our operations run smoothly and transparently, managing fee structures, overseeing licensing requirements, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. By combining financial expertise with regulatory knowledge, we help streamline processes, reduce risk, and support both internal teams and external partners. Whether it’s guiding stakeholders through complex licensing frameworks, optimizing fee schedules, or ensuring compliance with evolving regulations, the Fees and Licensing Team serves as a trusted resource committed to accountability, efficiency, and excellence.
The Role:
The Senior Fees Analyst delivers accurate authorization and revenue insights that inform key budget decisions, from monthly reporting through to fiscal year-end. This role leads analysis, forecasting, and ad hoc revenue inquiries, while building and maintaining robust data systems and reporting tools to support Environmental Protection programs. This position also provides oversight of the Integrated Pest Management licensing program, ensuring effective administration, supervision, and alignment with regulatory and operational requirements. By strengthening data quality and system alignment, this position ensures critical financial and regulatory information is timely, reliable, and actionable. Due to on-site position requirements, including team collaboration, this position is based in Victoria, with the flexibility to work from home up to three days per week.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- University Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance or Statistics, and/or Professional Accounting Designation (CA, CGA, CMA).
- Two (2) or more years of progressively more responsible related experience including experience in financial reporting and analysis.
- Experience in start-to-finish data analysis including compilation, interpretation and conducting economic and financial analysis.
- Experience researching, analysing, interpreting, evaluating and developing solutions using complex data to produce reports.
- Experience preparing a variety of written reports, analysis, briefing notes, presentations and other documentation.
- Experience with MS Excel preparing and working with complex spreadsheets, charts and graphs.
Preference may be given to those with one (1) or more of the following:
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners/stakeholders.
- Work experience in environmental protection or waste management of municipal solid waste (i.e. organics, recycling).
- Experience in supervising or leading staff, scheduling staff, allocating work duties, managing employee performance and delivering training and direction.

This competition is geographically restricted to Victoria.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to three (3) days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
