The Team:
The team at FrontCounter BC in Cranbrook is known for being approachable, knowledgeable, and service focused, supporting clients through a wide range of provincial permits and authorizations. They work collaboratively to guide individuals, businesses, and communities through often complex natural resource and land use processes, making information clear and accessible. With a strong commitment to customer service, the team plays an important role in connecting people with government programs while helping move projects forward efficiently and responsibly.

The Role:
As a Client Services Representative, you are the person clients turn to when they need help navigating BC’s natural resource permits and approvals. This role blends problem solving, client guidance, and hands on work with applications, mapping tools, payments, and documentation. It involves interpreting legislation in plain language, coordinating referrals and consultation packages, and keeping FrontCounter BC operations running smoothly. This is a fast paced, people focused position at the heart of BC’s natural resource system.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Grade 12 graduation or GED.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of clerical or administration experience in a formal business environment.

Preference may be given to those with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience working in a natural resource management field.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated or policy/legislation governed environment.
  • Experience using a variety of client/server database applications.
  • Experience with conflict resolution and negotiation in a regulatory environment.
  • Additional post-secondary education in the Natural Resource sector.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid British Columbia Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally, for varying lengths of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry boxes/mailbags weighing up to 20 pounds, for distances of up to 10 feet, and to manipulate them from heights which may require the use of a foot stool.

This position has full time on-site requirements.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
