Job Overview
Working at the Provincial level across the Natural Resource Ministries, to collaboratively drive new approaches to permitting through legislation, policy, tools and systems to support and transform decision making, processes and authorizations for priority initiatives. Acts as a Team Lead supervising staff within the Tactical Solutions team.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum Undergraduate Degree in in forestry, biology, agrology, or other natural resource management area and 5 years current and related experience working in the natural resource sector; or an equivalent combination of education and training from a recognized institution and 7 years current and direct related experience in the natural resource sector.
- Registered, or immediately eligible for registration (within six (6) months of employment), as a Professional Agrologist (PAg) with the BC Institute of Agrologists (BCIA), or as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC). Confirmation of registration/eligibility is required before an offer of employment can be made.
- 3 years’ experience managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.g. sub-project) of a major project, using accepted and fundamental project management standards, principles and tools of project management.
- 3 years’ experience managing relationships with senior government leadership, senior level stakeholders and leading consultation sessions.
- Experience in directing the work for other project managers, professional employees, and/or consultants.
- Experience in conflict resolution.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Experience leading policy review teams
- Experience in science-based policy development in a natural resource management capacity
- Experience working with professional and technical standards, legislation and policies related to natural resource permitting in BC
