Job Overview
Reporting to the Executive Director of Quality Assurance, the Director of Quality Assurance (DQA) is responsible for the Ministry’s Quality Assurance (QA) program to ensure MCFD achieves service excellence. This responsibility includes regular reporting on all elements of the QA program. The program is consistent with both operational and strategic objectives as set out in the Ministry’s Strategic Framework.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Social Work or Child and Youth Care, or Master’s in Clinical Psychology, Educational Counselling Psychology; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of recent (within the last 5 years) experience in a supervisory role with responsibility for Quality Assurance/Practice oversight or direct client service delivery in child and family services, preferably in a multidisciplinary environment and must possess a strong leadership foundation.
- Two (2) or more years of experience managing human and fiscal resources.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis.
- Experience with emergent, outcomes based, person focused and restorative service design principles to support the implementation of the QA framework, to assess the impact of service delivery and identify areas for improvement in policy, practice, and service.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
- Recent, senior leadership experience leading or implementing quality assurance frameworks, including audit, complaints, reviews of practice, and continuous improvement, with demonstrated ability to identify systemic risks and drive improvements in practice within human services environments.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying the Child, Family and Community Service Act, including translating legislative requirements into practice and assessing compliance.
- Experience interpreting and overseeing child safety policies, standards, and procedures, including assessing compliance, applying risk mitigation, and alignment with direct service.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available, this position may be able to work up to four (4) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
