Job Overview
Under the direction of the Director, Business and Finance, the Business Office Manager is responsible for supervising the daily accounting and administrative operations of the business office. This includes trust accounting, payroll, accounts payable, records management, work programs, inmate benefit funds, contract monitoring, facilities and asset administration.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Dogwood, GED or Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC).
  • A minimum of five (5) years related experience (within the last eight (8) years) in the following areas: accounts payable, accounts receivable or payroll.
  • Experience working in complex computer environments including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and other standard computer applications.

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:

  • Canadian recognized courses in Accounting or Payroll
  • Completion of a degree or diploma in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Experience with payroll
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Experience in BC Corrections with CORNET Trust Accounting
  • Experience with Time and Leave
  • Experience with QuickBooks
  • Experience with ORACLE (CAS)
  • Exposure to budgeting and trust accounting

This is a temporary opportunity until December 18, 2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.
