This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Nurse 7 (C) base position

Job Overview
Under the direction of the Driver Medical Fitness Program Managers, Nurse Case Managers are responsible for making determinations of individual’s medical fitness to drive or hold a driver’s licence for all classes of motor vehicles under the provisions of the Driver Medical Fitness program. Nurse Case Managers must independently exercise sound judgment, particularly in making decisions in the face of conflicting evidence. The job demands initiative, discretion and a wide spectrum of nursing knowledge.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Registered Nurse, eligible to practice nursing in the Province of British Columbia under the Registered Nurses Act, and in good standing with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Minimum of two (2) years assessing complex medical information as a Registered Nurse.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience in making decisions consistent with the principles of administrative fairness.
  • A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Nursing.
  • Three (3) or more years experience assessing complex medical information as a Registered Nurse.

About this Position:

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This position may require occasional travel to Victoria.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
