This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Band 1 base position.

Job Overview
The Insurance Consultant is responsible for analyzing, monitoring and verification of data for the timely renewal/placement of commercial and self-insured coverages and coordinates with risk management consultants to identify client insurance product needs. The Insurance Consultant is also responsible for information management, research, analysis and reconciliation for various commercial and self-insured programs.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate and/or a related designation plus 1 year of related experience*. 
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

*Related experience includes administrative, clerical or support role working in any of the following environments:

  • Providing administrative or support to risk management professionals
  • Supporting others and performing basic functions in the insurance industry
  • Working with others to support enterprise risk management activities.

Preference may be given to candidates with: 

  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation or Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) or working towards one of these designations.
  • Experience working with underwriting, self-insurance, construction or commercial lines insurance.
  • More years of related experience.
