The Team
The Authorizations Team is a small, collaborative group that values flexibility, teamwork, and getting results while maintaining a fun and supportive work environment. The Role
As a Licensed Authorizations Officer, you will play a key role in the timely processing of permits that support the forestry and mining sectors while ensuring compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements. This work helps businesses operate smoothly by balancing competing priorities and providing responsive service to clients and partners. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in the natural resource field or equivalent as recognized by Forest Professionals BC (FPBC).

Related experience may include:

  • Experience in consulting, negotiating, and resolving conflicts with partners and stakeholders in natural resource management.
  • Experience in supervising, leading, coaching, and mentoring staff.

Professional Registration and Certification Requirements:

  • Registered, or immediately eligible for registration (within six (6) months of employment), with Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC) as a Registered Professional Forester (RPF). Confirmation of registration/eligibility will be required before an offer of employment can be made.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent.
  • Willing and able to conduct field work which may include travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, overnight or extended stay in rough camp conditions and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of natural resource management theories, legislation, practices, concepts and processes.

About this Position:

One (1) Permanent position available. This position can be located in Mackenzie, Prince George, Vanderhoof or Fort Saint James.
This position will be required to conduct field work in Mackenzie.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
Depending on the successful candidate’s location, a bi-weekly isolation allowance may apply.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in the above locations.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position, but at a lower classification.
