Description

This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Grid 27 base position.

The Full Stack Developer position will join team Osprey who are developing and maintaining various BC Parks applications: Reservations, Day Use Pass, Attendance and Revenue, and the BC Parks Data Register. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering or related technical field, and minimum three years of experience as a Full Stack Developer and 1 year of related experience; OR 
  • A comparable related diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering or related technical field, and minimum four years of experience as a Full Stack Developer and 1 year of related experience; OR 
  • A comparable certification(s) in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering or related technical field and  minimum five years of experience as a Full Stack Developer and 1 year of related experience; OR 
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered. 

Related experience must include all of the following: 

  • One (1) year experience with Frontend and Backend Web Development (one or more – JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or other)    
  • One (1) year experience with Web Frameworks (one or more - React, Angular, Vue, Redux, Django, FastAPI, or other) 
  • One (1) year experience with Container Platforms (one or more – Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS or other) 
  • One (1) year experience with Databases (one or more - Dynamo, Mongo, Postgres/PostGIS, Oracle, SQL, or other) 

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following: 

  • Experience with Cloud Services (one or more - AWS, Azure, OpenShift, Google, or other) and deploying web applications to a cloud environment 
  • Experience with API Development or Integration (one or more – REST, GraphQL, or other) 
  • Experience with CI/CD (one or more - Github Actions, Terraform, Azure DevOps, or other pipelines) 
  • Experience with Authentication/Authorization (one or more – OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, OAuth, Keycloak, or other) 
  • Experience with version control technologies such as subversion and Git and development in an open-source environment 
  • Experience working in Agile teams and a cross-team environment 
  • Experience giving and receiving feedback in code reviews 
  • Experience with Object Storage (i.e. Minio/S3)  
  • Experience with ETL data streaming and data queuing 
  • Experience with any of the following: Python, FastAPI, Django, Javascript, Typescript, React, Angular, Redux, Jest, Cypress, Openshift, Kubernetes, Github Actions, Keycloak, Postgresql, S3, Celery, Numpy/Pandas, Alembic, or GIS. 
  • Experience using a variety of modern development tools, such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript libraries and frameworks, relational and non-relational databases
