The Team
The Tenures, Compensation & Business Analysis Branch (TCBA) is an established, high-performing team of approximately 30 professionals based in Victoria, with deep roots in the Ministry of Forests. Working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, the team brings together diverse expertise to support the responsible management of public forests and natural resources, including the systems, policies, analysis and advice that support timber harvesting and Crown land rights. The team values a range of perspectives and experiences and contributes to work that supports economic prosperity, fairness and clarity in the management of B.C.’s publicly owned timber resources.

The Role
The Office Administrator provides essential administrative, financial and coordination support to the Director’s Office, helping the Director, Deputy Director, Managers and staff manage priorities and keep the Tenures, Compensation & Business Analysis Branch running smoothly. In this role you will help connect people and priorities across the branch and ministry while contributing to the administration of timber tenures in B.C. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation (Grade 12) or equivalent (GED) and one (1) year of related experience in an office environment; OR
  • Other combinations of education, experience and/or training may be considered.

Preference may be given to applicants with four (4) or more of the following:

  • Experience in multi-tasking, working in a fast-paced environment and managing workload with minimal supervision.
  • Experience providing project management support services.
  • Experience managing electronic calendars including scheduling meetings and appointments.
  • Experience booking/making travel arrangements, arranging meetings and logistical coordination.
  • Experience in advanced keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, and other standard computer applications, including the MS Office suite of programs.
  • Experience formatting and proofreading a variety of documents, including confidential correspondence and briefing materials.
  • Experience working collaboratively with other administrative staff, providing training/support as needed.
  • Experience coordinating and editing briefing materials, reports and / or correspondence, including proof reading with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience with managing the flow and approval requirements for executive correspondence (eg: minister’s letter, briefing notes and issue notes).
  • Experience using CLIFF, eApprovals, SharePoint (Teams) and ARCS/ORCS records management system, EDRMS.
  • Experience distributing correspondence using complex distribution lists.
  • Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
