The Strategic Planning, Performance & Engagement Branch is a dynamic team providing expertise and services to executive and direct service leaders, including strategic and business planning, program evaluation and performance, employee engagement and communications, change management, implementation, interface, and reporting. The Role
The Change Management Specialist is a skilled communicator and planner, able to create compelling, persuasive plans, content and activities to support direct service staff through change. As a skilled facilitator, the Change Management Specialist provides advice, expertise and consultation to program leaders and senior leadership to support a diverse portfolio of projects and initiatives from concept to completion. This position supports implementation of significant change across a number of high-profile projects, initiatives and programs.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in change management, project management, communications, marketing, journalism, leadership, or public sector management and two (2) years of related experience; OR
- Diploma in change management, project management, communications, marketing, journalism, leadership, or public sector management and three (3) years related experience; OR
- Certificate or coursework in a related field (change management, project management, communications, marketing, journalism, leadership, or public sector management) and four (4) years related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related experience must include the following:
- Experience leading change management initiatives with internal and external impacts.
- Experience coaching senior staff and project managers through their change management roles and responsibilities.
- Experience with change and project management principles and practices.
Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
- Additional years of directly related experience.
- Two (2) or more years of experience writing a range of documents and content for senior leaders and executive (e.g. presentations, briefing notes, discussion papers, fact sheets, correspondence).
- Two (2) or more years of experience developing and implementing engagement or communications plans.
- Experience developing, fostering and maintaining effective relationships with executive, senior leaders, external partners and stakeholders.
- Certification in change management by an accredited organization.
- Masters degree in change management, project management, communications, marketing, journalism, leadership, or public sector management.
- Self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, status or non-status, Métis, or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.

This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 4 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
