The Team
The Workplace Support Services team supports Vancouver Island, the North, and Interior Regions by delivering essential facilities services that enable ministry operations. This established team of seven works closely with Service Delivery staff, Office Managers, and CBRE Services to ensure workplaces are safe, functional, and well maintained. Team members value a positive, collaborative environment that encourages learning, structure, and continuous improvement while supporting the delivery of critical public services.

The Role
As a Facilities Project Officer, you will lead large-scale accommodation projects, including office relocations, renovations, new construction, and office closures, while providing facilities and asset management expertise across a diverse portfolio of buildings. This dynamic role combines strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on project leadership to create safe, modern, and functional workspaces that support frontline services for children, youth, families, and ministry staff. Working closely with Service Delivery Division teams, program areas, and contractors, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact, build strong professional relationships, and advance your career in facilities, asset management, and project delivery within the public sector.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Certificate related to facilities management or related discipline (finance, project management, business or public administration); OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience managing large-scale facilities projects and leading project teams.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience with policies and procedures related to facilities management, assets and purchasing.
  • Minimum one (1) experience with facilities and capital planning, property management, leasing practices and security and experience with financial (budget, accounting) policies and procedures.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Six (6) months experience submitting requests to CBRE for One Time Service Requests.
  • Qualified to complete Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation within 6 months of commencement of position.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 4 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
There is currently a temporary opportunity available until Jan 31, 2027. This temporary opportunity may become permanent.
