The Team
The Abbotsford and MACO (Mission Abbotsford Community Outreach) Community Corrections offices share space in the Abbotsford Law Courts which has both provincial and supreme Courts. They are a co-located with many other Justice partners including Corrections Programs and Inventions staff. Working in a busy environment provides plenty of room for collaborative practice which staff at these locations are known for. The MACO office has an outreach team which provides service to clients by meeting them in the community. Abbotsford and Mission are diverse communities that are rich with culture. Successful candidates who are passionate about affecting positive change will get plenty of experience.
The Role
Under the direction of a Local Manager of a community corrections office, this position supervises administrative staff and provides financial, human resource and front-line support services. This position is required to set priorities and is part of the office leadership team.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary School graduation.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a clerical, secretarial, receptionist or administrative support role; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 30 words per minute (WPM) in keyboarding.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Supervisory experience.
- Completion of a post-secondary certificate, program or course in office administration.
- Experience working in an office setting providing services within the Justice System (Court Services, Correctional Centre, BC Prosecution Services, Youth Justice, legal office, justice focused non-profit).
Willingness statements/Provisos
- Willing to serve adult clients who may have multiple legal, health, social, and/or mental health needs and/or clients who have committed or alleged to have committed criminal acts including intimate partner violence or sexually motivated offences.
- A valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license without restrictions or an equivalent Canadian driver’s license is required. A valid BC Class 7 may be considered.

This is a temporary opportunity until 01/01/2028. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 1 day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
