This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Band 1 base position.
Job Overview
The position supports the development of the Operational plan for the division, coordinates issues management, leads projects and manages Executive communications and finances. To support cross-program projects, facilitate the flow of information, handle finances, and prepare for and attend meetings on behalf of Assistant Deputy Minister.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Diploma in office administration, business administration, public administration, political science, communications, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required experience includes:
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a senior administrative role dealing with executive members on highly confidential and sensitive issues.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience navigating and providing advice surrounding a range of administrative policies and procedures (for example, Human Resources).
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience managing high-paced, diverse workloads effectively and independently.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in reviewing, creating and formatting a variety of documents, including briefing materials, correspondence, memos, detailed reports and presentations.
- A minimum of one (1) year experience coordinating and/or tracking work for other professional employees to ensure deliverables/timelines are met.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience working in an Assistant Deputy Minister or Deputy Minister office, or equivalent executive office.
- Experience supervising administrative staff.
- Applicants who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in legislation and/or legal support services.
- Additional years of experience in any of the above requirements and/or preferences.

This is a temporary opportunity until February 2028. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
