Description

This is a restricted lateral posting open to employees who hold a Grid 27 base position.

Job Overview
In this role, you will lead complex statistical analysis and economic modelling projects to support evidence-based decision-making. You will conduct cost-benefit analyses, interpret large and complex datasets, and provide expert advice to senior leaders on issues that impact ministry and government priorities, objectives, and financial commitments.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Master’s degree in economics or a specialized field of economics (e.g., Economic Development, Financial Economics, International Economics), and one (1) year of related* experience; OR
  • Equivalent master’s degree or PhD. in a closely related field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics) and two (2) years of related* experience. 

*Related Experience must include:

  • Experience in the design and implementation of statistical analysis and economic modelling projects.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • One (1) year experience working with business intelligence software such as PowerBI.
  • One (1) year experience with land economics, land use planning and/or real estate development.
  • One (1) year experience working with statistical software language (i.e. R, Python).
