Job Overview
The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is the Province of BC’s primary emergency response organization that operates year-round to deliver its mandate for wildfire management. BCWS also delivers expertise and services in response to other natural hazard emergencies.  The BCWS is underpinned by the Four Pillars of Emergency Management – Prevention & Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery.  BCWS partners with ministries, agencies, local, provincial, national, and international governments, First Nations, and Indigenous organizations to advance effective management of wildfire and other natural hazard emergencies.  The BCWS operates provincially, delivering services through six Fire Centres, thirty-three Zones and two provincial centres in Kamloops and Victoria.  This position is responsible to assist with the coordination of a wide range of asset management practices within the Fire Centre’s geographic area relating to asset, fleet and facilities management.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduation; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and training may be considered; AND
  • Valid Class 5 drivers licence.

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Experience supporting facility maintenance programs, including coordinating repairs, inspections, or preventative maintenance activities.
  • Experience in fleet maintenance or repair environments, including tracking vehicle maintenance, working with repair vendors, or supporting lifecycle management.
  • Experience maintaining asset inventories and supporting asset lifecycle planning (repair, replacement, disposal).
  • Experience in contract and procurement management and coordination, including working with service providers and contract deliverables.
  • Experience creating and managing spreadsheets, and working with standard computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

This position has full time on-site requirements.
