Description

The Team
The North East Fraser Service Delivery team is dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families through a continuum of integrated services, including child protection, child and family development, mental health, adoptions, early childhood development, and services to children in care. The team works collaboratively to deliver high-quality, client-centered services while advancing the ministry’s strategic priorities, service transformation initiatives, and best practices across the region.

The Role
The Director of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for the delivery of integrated services to children, youth, and families within North East Fraser Service Delivery, supporting the ministry’s priorities, service transformation initiatives, and practice excellence. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role is responsible for overseeing service delivery, ensuring quality standards, leading multidisciplinary teams, and supporting the effective integration of programs including child protection, CYMH, child and family development, adoptions, and services to children in care.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Care, or Masters in Clinical Psychology, Educational Counselling Psychology, or Social Work, or equivalent. 
    • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must request a comprehensive report and the MCFD supplemental report to be considered for this competition.
  • Experience in a supervisory/management position.
  • Experience in program and service delivery planning and evaluation.

Preference may be give to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

  • A minimum of five (5) years or more of experience in a supervisory/management position obtained within the last ten (1)0 years in social services field.
  • Experience working with Indigenous people and/or communities.
  • Experience leading teams in a social services field.
  • Experience leading service change in a social services field.
  • Experience developing community and organizational partnerships in a social services field.
  • Experience working in Labour Relations in a union environment.
  • Immediate eligibility for full C6 delegation under the Child, Family and Community Service Act.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in financial planning and budget management.

About this Position:
This position is excluded from union membership.
This is a temporary opportunity until February 26th, 2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
