Job Overview

The Partnership Coordinator supports and coordinates engagement with First Nations communities, and ensures accurate and timely information-sharing with staff and partners across all four pillars of emergency management, including: mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. 

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Diploma or higher in a related field (eg. First Nations engagement or consultation, Public Administration, etc.) and one (1) year of related experience working with Indigenous organizations and/or communities; OR,
  • Certificate in a related field (e.g., First Nations engagement or consultation, Public Administration, etc.) and two (2) years related experience working with Indigenous organizations and/or communities; OR,
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related experience may include the following:

  • Experience planning, coordinating and facilitating special events, workshops or working sessions with external partners.
  • Experience developing and implementing tracking and monitoring systems.
  • Experience building strong relationships and working as part of a team.
  • Experience typing, formatting, and proofreading a variety of documents and materials in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,).

Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

  • Identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit).
  • Two (2) years or more experience working with Indigenous organizations and/or communities.
  • Experience conducting research and providing findings and recommendations to support program, product or service development that are culturally relevant.
  • Experience in emergency management.

Willingness Statements

  • Travel overnight, occasionally, and on operational deployments, up to 2 weeks, to locations anywhere in the province.
  • Work on-call and extended hours during emergency activations.

This position has full time on-site requirements.
