Job Overview
This position evaluates Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) services and Indigenous Child and Family Service Agency services delivered under the Child, Family and Community Service Act (CFCSA), ensuring alignment with legislation, policy, standards, and agreements with Indigenous communities. It conducts reviews to monitor performance, improve services, and ensure public accountability for the delivery of services to children, youth, young adults, and families.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Social Work OR Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Child and Youth Care OR Master of Arts in Clinical/Counselling Psychology OR Master’s Degree in Education/Counseling in conjunction with child welfare/family service work experience.

Related Experience may include:

• Experience with MCFD or an Indigenous Child and Family Service Agency that demonstrates increased responsibilities that reflect the depth and breadth of experience in one or more of the following service areas: child protection and family services; resources; guardianship; adoption and permanency; youth services; and community youth justice.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and SharePoint.
• Other relevant equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered (e.g., Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field with job-specific work experience. Human Services fields include Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Anthropology, Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Studies, Education, Theology or Nursing).

Preference may be given to:

• Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit), with the required combination of education and experience.
• Applicants who self-identify as Black, or a person of colour, people who identify as LGBTQ2S+ and/or people with disabilities), with the required combination of education and experience.
• Child safety experience (intake, family service, guardianship, resources).

Willingness statements or provisos:

• This role includes reviewing and analyzing content that may be unpleasant and emotionally charged including critical injuries, fatalities, and current and historical trauma of children, youth and young adults.
• This position may be required to travel throughout the province; therefore, transportation arrangements must meet the MCFD operational requirements.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
