Job Overview
To protect society by providing appropriate support and supervision of young persons in conflict with the law and to facilitate their rehabilitation by providing optimal opportunities for pro-social development through a youth-focused case management process.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field.
    • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a comprehensive report and the MCFD supplemental report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.

*Human Services field includes: Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Anthropology, Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Studies, Education, Theology and Nursing

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience working as either an Adult Probation Officer or a Fully Delegated Youth Probation Officer in a Canadian Jurisdiction.
  • Experience in a justice, educational or social service setting that involves the supervision of young people or adults.
  • Experience in a justice, educational or social service setting with counselling or conflict resolution.
  • Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree of four years or equivalent in credit hours in Justice Studies

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

This position is part time (0.75 FTE)
This is a temporary opportunity until February 11, 2028. This position may be extended or become permanent. 
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to one (1) day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
