Description
The Team:
The Knowledge Management Team in Strategic Services Branch develops and implements training programs, e-learning products, and job resources that support a large Service Delivery Division with over 1400 employees in 83 locations throughout the province.
The Role:
The Manager, Training Programs is responsible for the delivery of frontline staff training programs. Key responsibilities include conducting learning needs analyses, nurturing positive working relationships with frontline partners, designing and implementing a comprehensive training calendar, guiding and mentoring the training team, and ensuring alignment of training initiatives with divisional goals. The position will appeal to someone who excels in a fast-paced working environment, is comfortable leading conversations with business area leadership, has great communication and listening skills, collaborates effectively with colleagues, and takes a solution-based approach to challenges.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- University degree in a related discipline, such as Adult Learning, Human Resources, or Business
- Two (2) or more years of related* experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience in a supervisory role
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Related* experience must include all of the following:
- Planning, developing, and implementing training or professional development initiatives in the social services sector
- Managing and scheduling large teams
- Managing partnerships with internal and external partners
- Project management including experience leading project teams
Preference may be given to applicants with the following experience:
- Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience, within the last five (5) years, in a frontline** service delivery position in the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction
- Leading training and development work in the social services sector
**Frontline positions include Supervisors, Assistant Supervisors, Supervisor Administrative Services, Employment Assistance Workers (EAW), Quality Compliance Specialists (QCS), Community Service Workers (CSW), Adjudicators, and Community Integration Specialists.
Willingness Statement:
- Must be willing and able to travel occasionally within the province

About this Position:
This position can be based in any Social Development and Poverty Reduction office. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to five (5) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
