The Team
The team at the BC Prosecution Service works in a fast-paced and evolving environment focused on supporting a fair, timely, and effective justice system for people across British Columbia. Team members work collaboratively with Crown Counsel, justice partners, police, and government partners to respond to changing legal and technological demands while helping improve processes that support access to justice and public confidence in the criminal justice system. The Role
The Legal Office Manager plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a BC Prosecution Service office by coordinating administrative, financial, records management, and human resource functions. This role provides leadership, guidance, and support to Legal Assistants and Legal Clerks while working collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external partners to help ensure efficient and accessible service delivery. The position values strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, and inclusive leadership to support diverse teams and evolving operational needs across different office environments.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent (within the last 5 years) experience working as a Legal Assistant (or equivalent);
  • Experience leading teams or supervising staff, which may include allocation of work, performance appraisals, peer-to-peer training, etc.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Successful completion of a recognized Legal Assistant or Paralegal certificate or equivalent. 
  • More than 1 year of recent (within the last 5 years) experience working as a Legal Assistant (or equivalent).
  • Recent experience (within the last 18 months) working for the BC Prosecution Service.
  • At least 1 year of experience leading teams or supervising staff, which may include allocation of work, performance appraisals, peer-to-peer training, etc.

About this Position:
1 Position available.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
