Description

The Team
The Ministry of Infrastructure leads the province to deliver capital projects that help B.C. communities grow and thrive, including schools, hospitals, student housing, child care centres, primary care facilities, and long-term care facilities. As the lead for capital construction, the ministry works closely with several partner ministries to ensure important cross-government infrastructure projects are coordinated and delivered as efficiently as possible. The ministry also provides government workplace services, including managing government's real estate portfolio, office space inventory, furniture procurement, project and construction management, real estate services, and oversight of government's surplus property sales.

The Role
Reporting to the Team Lead, Freedom of Information and Records, the Freedom of Information (FOI) Analyst responds to access and privacy requests, works to find practical and equitable solutions within the parameters of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA) and makes recommendations on the release of information and the protection of privacy for the ministry. 

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

•    Degree in information management, public administration or other related discipline and one (1) year of recent, related experience*; OR
•    Diploma in information management, public administration or other related discipline and one (1) year of recent, related experience*

Recent and related experience must include:
•    Analyzing large amounts of complex data.
•    A minimum of 1 year interpreting and applying legislation, policies and/or directives (i.e., policies and laws of the provincial, federal, or municipal governments).
•    A minimum of 1 year of experience with procedures related to the collection, use, and disclosure of information and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and/or the Information Management Act.

Preference may be given to candidates with the required combination of education and experience and one or more of:
•    Direct experience interpreting freedom of information/privacy or similar legislation.
•    Experience working in a high-volume customer-service environment.
•    Related experience gained in a public service or government environment.
•    Experience working with the FOI Modernization Application (“Mod App”).

About this Position:
This position is based out of Victoria. 
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 3 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
