Job Overview
This role provides leadership, coordination, and delivery oversight for the delivery of Action 3.15 (Including Indigenous language names is systems and services) which is a complex, cross-government initiative.
The position operates at the intersection of policy, service design, technology, and interested party engagement. The project director ensures alignment across multiple ministries, external partners, and delivery teams to achieve integrated service outcomes. This includes liaising with technical teams to ensure system upgrades are completed in alignment with the project’s needs and timelines, and development of any necessary IM/IT standards. Simultaneously, working with the service design team to ensure training, change management and service experiences are in alignment with the project vision and timelines. Monitoring the project to identify and resolve gaps in resourcing, risks, and ensure delivery artifacts (e.g. integrated timelines, decision logs, and engagement trackers) are maintained and used to support alignment across partners and meet internal needs.
The ideal candidate for this position brings experience working with multiple interested parties to develop a vision and deliver outcomes while emphasizing collaboration across silos, iterative delivery (“progress over perfection”) and transparency. As well as experience as a trusted advisor who works with subject matter experts to provide briefings, recommendations, and decision support. This includes the facilitation of governance forums. Experience working on initiatives in a complex and fast paced environment where strategic thinking, operational execution and relationship management are all at play is an asset.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Degree in business administration, public administration, related field or equivalent.
- Must have or be qualified to complete a project management designation within 6 months of commencement.
- Experience at a senior level leading major projects of large scale and complexity that have multiple project delivery components.
- Experience establishing collaborative relationships with executives and leading organizational change associated with implementation.
- Experience leading and coaching multi-disciplinary senior level professionals and/or managers in the development and implementation of complex projects.
- Experience in business planning, contract management, financial management, and negotiations.
