Job Overview
Reporting to a Section Head or an excluded manager, the Senior Licensed Authorizations Officer provides specialist services to the Natural Resource Sector in evaluating resource applications, conducting applied research, and leading or participating in complex projects. This position may supervise professional and technical staff.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in a Natural Resource Management field and two (2) years of related experience; or,
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Natural Resource Management field and three (3) years of related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related Experience may include:
- Experience (field/office) working in natural resource management.
- Experience in negotiating and consulting with relevant parties in natural resource management.
- Experience in supervising, leading, coaching, and mentoring staff.
Professional Registration and Certification Requirements:
- Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) in BC with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC). Note: “Immediately eligible for registration” means meeting all requirements for full professional registration and completing the process of obtaining full registration with FPBC within six (6) months of employment.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid BC driver’s licence.
- Must meet safety standards of WorkSafeBC.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available.
This position can be located in Fort St James, Mackenzie, Prince George, or Vanderhoof.
Depending on the successful candidate’s location, a bi-weekly isolation allowance may apply.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in the above locations.
