Description

The Team
The Reporting and Analytics team provides executive, strategic and operational level reporting to the division and key business partners in the Natural Resource Ministries.  The team works across the division and the Natural Resource Sector to provide data and insights on priority initiatives and key projects. 

The Role
The Business Insights Analyst is responsible for actively engaging the Permitting Transformation Division in a discussion about data, and analytics in the evaluation of the program. The role supports staff across the Permitting Transformation Division and the ministry in their initiatives using a data driven approach for decision-making and maintaining a high standard of client service. The Business Insights Analyst leads and helps guide the business intelligence and data strategy of the program, including the collection of feedback and requirements to ensure that initiatives, projects, and policies meet the needs of the program and can be accurately measured with analytics.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Public Administration, Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, OR
•    An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience may be considered, AND

Required experience:
•    Minimum one (1) year of experience in analyzing and evaluating program performance.

Preference may be given to applicants with 1 or more of the following:
•    Experience in analysing program data and presenting written and verbal insights.
•    Experience leading teams, groups or projects.
•    Experience preparing materials for Executive and presenting to Senior Management.
•    Experience working with business intelligence software tools, such as, but not limited to FABRIC, FME and Power BI.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 05/15/2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
