Job Overview
The Senior Policy Analyst leads the research, analysis, development, and implementation of strategic policies and legislation for a significant ministry program. They guide policy review teams of ministry and external specialists for the analysis of program policy. They also offer advice and recommendations on legislation, policy, and programs to senior management. 

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Master’s degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 2 years of related experience, or 
  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 3 years of related experience, or 
  • Diploma in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 4 years related experience, or 
  • Certificate or coursework in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a field related to the program area and 5 years related experience, or 
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Related Experience must include all of the following:

  • Quantifying, reporting, verifying, or reviewing greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Analyzing, auditing, or querying large scientific or technical datasets.
     

Preference may be given to applicants with experience in the following:

  • Experience analyzing, writing, and communicating summaries, briefing notes and/or reports on technical or scientific subjects for non-technical readers.
  • Experience in development of legislation, regulation, and policy. 
  • Working in a natural resource sector.
  • Experience managing projects and leading project components.

About this Position:
Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
