We support healthy child and family development, helping every child in British Columbia reach their full potential. Within MCFD, the Service Delivery Division is responsible for providing a wide range of programs and services that promote positive outcomes for children, youth, and their families across the province. The Nanaimo Service Delivery Admin Team is a dedicated and collaborative group of four Team Assistants and one Office Manger who provide support to various program areas.

The Role
The Team Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy social services office. Reporting to the Office Manager, this position provides administrative and program support to services such as Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) and Children and Youth with Support Needs (CYSN).
As one of the first points of contact for clients, the Team Assistant helps create a welcoming and supportive environment while ensuring the smooth operation of office activities. Responsibilities include coordinating appointments, managing records and correspondence, processing documentation, responding to inquiries, and providing administrative support to clinical and service delivery teams.
Empathy, professionalism, and strong organizational skills are essential in this role. Many of the children, youth, and families accessing our services may be experiencing challenges, stress, or vulnerability. A successful Team Assistant approaches every interaction with warmth, patience, and respect, helping clients feel heard, supported, and valued. By fostering positive relationships and maintaining a compassionate, client-centered approach, the Team Assistant contributes significantly to the overall experience and well-being of those we serve.
