The Team
The Financial Projects Team leads financial and business projects and provides strategic advice to senior management on revenue recovery, collections, and debt management. Working independently, the team delivers both operational and strategic support to recover outstanding debts owed to the province while supporting effective decision-making and long-term planning. Team members bring a combination of financial, analytical, and business expertise and work together to develop recommendations, assess complex issues, and support organizational priorities.
The Role
The Supervisor, Financial and Business Projects leads a team of analysts who deliver financial, business, and transformation projects and provide reporting that supports informed operational and strategic decision-making. Working closely with leaders, auditors, and internal and external partners, this role oversees complex, high-impact projects while ensuring objectives are achieved and understands government financials. The supervisor fosters collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, creating an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued and contribute to better outcomes. Through strong leadership and relationship building, this role helps drive organizational effectiveness and sustainable business results.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Certificate or higher in accounting, business administration, finance, project management or a related field and three (3) years *related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of *related experience, education, and/or training may be considered.
- Minimum one (1) year recent (within the last 5 years) experience in leading, directing and/or supervising staff.
*Related experience must include:
- Experience working with financial, collection and/or revenue systems.
- Experience working with external partners and service providers.
- Experience in planning and developing operational policies.
- Experience in financial/business strategy and/or analysis.
Preference may be given for:
- Accounting designation.
- Revenue Experience.
- Experience using CFS (Corporate Financial System) and/or the GenTax (TACS) and/or Revenue Management System (RMS) software applications.
- Experience in project management.
- Supervisory experience in a union environment.
- Additional years of experience with leading, directing and/or supervising staff.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to five (5) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
